FUNERALS
The death of a loved one, whether expected or not, is a difficult and emotional time, and the funeral service is a vital and important part of beginning the healing process. Saying goodbye is one of the hardest things to do and this must be achieved in the most fitting way for the person who has died, and in a manner they would have wanted. This would reflect their true nature and personality and capture the essence of who they really were and how their legacy will live on.
I feel privileged and honoured to be able to connect and speak with bereaved families and be able to help them say goodbye to their loved ones in a unique and dignified way by writing and conducting a special and lasting tribute for their final journey.
I would meet with the family where possible, but if the next of kin lives far away, I can speak on the phone or via e-mail. We would discuss the family’s wishes and thoughts so that together we would create a beautiful and unique funeral service which acknowledges the pain and loss felt but, which also celebrates the life of their loved one.
I would assist you with choosing music and literature or any other ideas you may have. By working alongside the family I shall do my best to create a service reflecting the beliefs of the person, whether religious, non-religious or a service with elements of religion, such as a blessing, prayer and\or hymns.
Through the funeral service the aim is to tell the story of the life of the person who has died and allow those present the time to mourn, celebrate and to remember and honour them. I would welcome any family members or close friends who would like to share memories, read a poem or even read the eulogy and I am very happy to help in any way. If anyone felt they would like to write the eulogy and read it that would be lovely. Alternatively, I could write the eulogy which could be read out by a family member or friend and I would be close at hand to give encouragement but also to take over if things get too much for them.
I believe in quality and diversity as everyone has the right to a meaningful and dignified funeral.
If you would like me to conduct the funeral of your loved one please either contact me direct or ask the funeral director to call me.
